“I go to the mosque to pray, I attend church services. Yes I am a traditionalist as well.” – Ooni Of Ife Reveals


In a recent interview with the Osasu show, the Traditional head of Yorubaland, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has said that contrary to popular opinion, there is nothing wrong with practising traditional religion.

He revealed that he has been able to discover that all religions “are one” and dded that there is only one God being worshiped in different ways.

He also attributed the current view of traditional religions as being demonic to westernization and the lack of understanding of the colonial masters when they came to the country.

He said:
“I’m not a Christian alone, I can be called a Muslim too. I practice all the religion very well.”

“I go to the mosque to pray, I attend church services. Yes I am a traditionalist as well.”

“I have been able to see the light that there’s nothing demonic about our ancient religion.”
