Gov aspirant berates Oshiomhole’s palliative measures

GOVERNORSHIP aspirant on the platform of Hope Democratic Party (HDP) in the forthcoming election in Edo State, Mr. Idumonza Isidahomhen, has raised an alarm over Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s promised palliative measures to cushion the effect of the recent increase in price of petrol by the Federal Government.

He described the palliatives as “attempts to deceive the good people of Edo again.”
Isidahomhen, in a statement issued by the Media Coordinator of Idumonza Campaign Organisation (ICO), Mr. Kenneth Aigbogun, maintained that the Thursday, January 19, statewide broadcast was another process of deceiving Edo people by announcing palliatives ahead of the July 2012 governorship election.
He stated that the broadcast came at a time Oshiomhole did not even know the actual amount that would be accruing to the state from the “partial subsidy.”
He recalled how Oshiomhole, on the day of his swearing in, announced at Ogbe Stadium that he would create 10,000 jobs.
“Three and half years after, he only employed about 4,000 and they are casual employees, thereby mortgaging the future of young Edo indigenes.
“Oshiomhole announced payment of minimum wage to workers in Edo State. He had hardly read the last sentence when it was obvious that he was not capable of paying. Teachers were excluded from the payment,” he noted.
He added that “similarly, he embarked on the dualisation of federal roads even when he knows that the capacity to execute such jobs was very limited. He did that to deceive the people that he is working and to score cheap popularity. Yet, about the same time and till now, feeder roads are begging for attention in the state.
“Anytime it rains, roads in Benin GRA are always not passable. And so it is in all parts of the state. Now, three years after, he has not been able to commission one.”
He emphasised that though his party, HDP, did not have anything against free education at the primary and secondary school levels and the reduction of tuition fee at the Ambrose Alli University, “such reduction should not be announced to further deceive the people before realising that it cannot be actualised.”

It is true.Oshiomhole pretends to be doing something but in actuality, he is not doing any thing. How has the life of the common Edo person be better? Is it in security, employment, food to eat or business

This man should come out and campaign well. We will vote for him. Oshiomhole is good for senate or minister of labour, not governor. He makes too much noise and does nothing.
