A correspondent with Lagos based Channels television, Enenche Akogwu was one of those shot dead in a well coordinated chain of attacks in Kano metropolis today. The dreaded Islamic sect Boko Haram has already claimed responsibility for the wave of multiple explosions that have ripped through Kano and turned it upside down today.
32 year old Enenche was said to have been shot dead by suspected members of the sect while covering their attack on the police command headquarters today. He would be remembered for his good coverage of the recent fuel subsidy strike and protests that rocked the city.
At least seven people are said to have been killed in the attacks that rocked the city. The extent of the damage to the city is still unknown, but several state offices were affected, including the police headquarters in the city.
Reports say that the sound of the attacks was like the explosion of 20 bombs in a simultaneous attack.
