A Chief Magistrate Court, presided over by Nkemdilim Ike in Onitsha, Anambra State, on Monday, remanded two alleged homosexuals in prison, for allegedly having canal knowledge of two minors.
Ebuka Anyasi, 23, and 19-year-old Michael Ikegbunam, were detained in an Onitsha prison for allegedly committing felony by having sex with two minors, Ifechukwu Okafor, 14, and Tagbo Chukwuma.
The act lasted for 7 days, while both victims were locked in confinement in Okoloji Street, Odoakpu in Onitsha area of the State.However, when the charges were read, the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge preferred against them.
The Prosecutor, ASP Clem Nwancho, who opposed the bail application for the accused submitted a three-page motion application as well as an affidavit opposing the plea for their bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Nkemdilim Ike adjourned the case till July 1 so as to consider the bail application for both suspects while ordering they be remanded in an Onitsha prison.
However, some legal practitioners in Onitsha have decried ploy by some big wigs in the State to suppress the case.
