Despite the loss of lives of teh Govenor of Kaduna state, Patrick Yakowa, and former National Security Adviser(NSA)Andrew Aziza in the ill-fated helicopter crash, it has been revealed that their families will not be paid any form of compensation.
According to an aviation expert and retired air officer Group Capt. John Ojikutu(retd),"Anyone who boards a military aircraft knows its just another good ride. The aircraft is strictly for military operations/training and not for commercial purposes. It does not carry insurance for non-military functions. Who do you expect to pay compensation? The defence ministry or Navy? It is an unfortunate incident but they are not entitled to any compensation"
