Pastor arrested for bank robbery

Kogi state police command has arrested and paraded a pastor and two others in connection with the last month robbery of First Bank and Unity bank in Ankpa, Ankpa Local government of Kogi state.

Also arrested and paraded by the command was a cannibal who specializes in using Okada to lure victims to the bush where he will kill them for meat and sell the remaining parts to ritualists.

Parading the suspect before newsmen yesterday, the state commissioner for Police, Muhamed Kastina said the pastor, Karachi Ekwenye of Divine Restoration of God Mission, Oyi road, Rivers state is the spiritual father of the robbery gang who offers prayers for the gang in return for money each time they are embarking on their robbery mission

The other duo, Innocent Onyeonura and Joy Onyeonura who are relatives, according to him, led the Ankpa robbery operation of 25th April, 2012 where they carted away millions of naira and paid N300,000. 00 to Pastor Karachi Ekwenye’s account for his ‘assistance’.

Mohammed revealed that the suspected robbers were apprehended through robust intelligent and expanded network while trying to flee the country through Badagry in possession of N4.091 million naira, a Toyota hilux Jeep with registration number, 43 W0026 and another Toyota Previa bus with registration number TH 289 KJA.

Two other suspects connected to the Ankpa bank robbery he disclosed, are at large but promised that the command in collaboration with Interpol would apprehend the suspects since intelligence report shows the robbers are presently located between Cotonou/Togo axis.

The cannibal man, Jimoh Obabu Salau was arrested while trying to bury his victim, Idowu Aliyu, a student of School of Technology, Zamfara aged 22 years old Jimoh it was revealed lured the late Idowu to board his Okada but midway to the journey to the park diverted to the bush, hit the victim on the head with heavy weapon before luck ran out of him as he was apprehended will trying to bury the victim

The suspected cannibal it was revealed was dismissed from Army while on Ecomog duties in Liberia after showing canibalistic behaviour. He was also arrested and sentenced to death in 2003 for killing his wife and two kids; eating their intestine and subsequently sold the remaining parts
