FORMER
President Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday, paid an unscheduled visit to Edo State,
though his mission to the state was unclear.
Chief Obasanjo, who visited Governor Adams
Oshiomhole, the Edo State Governor at his official residence, declined to
comment on the purpose of his visit.
He said: “I am not here for any statement. If
the governor is around and I am in Edo State for private visit, I should be
able to say hello. Thank you very much.”
On whether he was in the state to endorse
Oshiomhole’s second term bid and the outcome of the private meeting that lasted
less than 10 minutes, he said: “Another day I come, I will talk, and the
governor will talk also.”
