Troubled American music legend Whitney Houston is found dead in Beverly Hills hotel room at the age of 48, after long fight with drugs

The award-winning singer and actress was reportedly found unconscious in her hotel room. Emergency services attempted CPR but she was pronounced dead shortly before 4pm. The cause of death is unknown. At her peak, Houston was the golden girl of the music industry - winning two Tony awards, six Grammys and starring in a string of films. Her death has come as a shock to the entertainment industry ahead of tonight's Grammy awards. She was last pictured, right, at pre-Grammys party in Hollywood on Thursday.
