Revealed: Bin Laden urged Al Qaeda followers to kill Obama

Osama Bin Laden was plotting to kill Barack Obama so he would be replaced by the ‘unprepared’ Joe Biden, it was reported today.
According to the Washington Post, the Al Qaeda leader had instructed his followers to take out the President, plunging the U.S. into crisis.

The instructions were discovered among thousands of documents recovered from the compound in Pakistan where the terror chief was killed last year.
Bin Laden also told them to target General David Petraeus, according to the Post.
Claims that Bin Laden had urged Al Qaeda to kill Obama first emerged after the terror chief’s death.

But the Washington Post investigation has uncovered extra detail about the plot, which has been downplayed by security chiefs.
Bin Laden's instruction was to shoot down the aircraft carrying Obama and Petraeus, although Al Qaeda were reported to have lacked the weapons to actually carry this threat out.
A senior U.S. official told Fox News that bin Laden ‘clearly had bold ambitions to kill as many innocent people as possible’ but that Al Qaeda's capabilities did not meet the leader's aspirations.

The official said that government analysts have spent ‘countless hours’ reviewing documents taken from bin Laden's compound last May and that the government is working to make them unclassified as soon as possible.
However, the documents are unlikely to be available to the public for some months.
