She has seen the negative effects fame can bring but Bobbi Kristina Brown has revealed that she is set for a career in acting and singing – just like her mother Whitney Houston.
In a revealing and touching interview with Oprah Winfrey which aired tonight, the 19-year-old spoke about her mother’s death for the first time.
Bobbi told Oprah that she wants to carry on her mother’s legacy and how she hears her mother’s spirit all the time encouraging her.
She said: ‘I still have a voice – yeah we are going to do the singing thing, we are going to do the singing and the acting.’
And asked if she felt a burden because of her mother’s extreme talent and success she replied: ‘It’s a lot of pressure but she prepared me for it.’
The teenager also told Oprah of her final day and night with her mother, before she passed away on February 11, 2012.
She explained: ‘The very last day, it was so early in the morning I went to go and get her I was like “Will you come and lay down with me.”
Bobbi Kristina added: ‘She was rubbing my head and I slept in her arms all day and all night long.’
The daughter of Whitney and husband Bobby Brown was composed throughout the short interview, which took place at her aunt’s house in Atlanta.
Bobbi said: 'She wasn’t only a mother she was a best friend, a sister, a comforter – she was this spirit that she has no matter where she was.'
And touching on the speculations and reports that have emerged in the wake of her mother's death Bobbi was quick to defend her mother.
She said: 'So many people saying so many other things they don’t know who she really was.'
'All that negativity it’s garbage – that’s not my mother that’s not who she is. In reality I know who she was, her family know who she was, you know who she was.'
Curiously the teen also revealed that she didn't realise the height of her mother's fame or her iconic status around the world - until she was gone.
