At least 22 children and six adults were killed, and dozens more seriously hurt, after their coach crashed in a tunnel in Switzerland late last night.
Many of the dead, mostly schoolchildren aged 12, are believed to have died instantly when their coach careered into an underpass wall in the canton of Valais, near the border with Italy.
All were among a school party of 52 returning from an Alpine skiing holiday to the villages of Lommel and Heverlee in the Flemish region of Belgium.
