The media spokesman of Vice President Namadi Sambo, Mallam Umar Sani has responded to rumours making round that he married Nollywood actress and Special Assistant on Public Affairs to Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, Nkiru Sylvanus, as second wife just a week after she was released by kidnappers.
The rumour
Few days after she was released from kidnappers den, Nollywood actress and Special Assistant on Public Affairs to Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, Nkiru Sylvanushas secretly got married to the media spokesman of Vice President Namadi Sambo, Mallam Umar Sani.
The wedding was made hush-hush because of the media attention that greeted the kidnapping of the actress and because the VP’s media man has a wife already which will make Nkiru his second wife.
We learnt Nkiru and Umar Sani had been dating for a while and it was Sani, who got the political appointment for the actress in Imo State.
The source further told us that it was Umar Sani that paid ransom of several millions of naira which made the kidnappers to release the actress.
Mallam Umar Sani’s response
Speaking to reporters at the Presidential Villa in Abuja Monday evening, he said: “The report is very funny. How can you marry somebody you have not seen for over three months? The last time I saw her was in September so how can a marriage take place when the subject matters have not seen each other? I have not married Nkiru Sylvanus and if a wedding of such took place, people should be able to name the place, date and time. It is not true”.
