Terry G Denies Hit & Run Story: Says, 'I Am Not Wanted By The Police'

Following the reactions the reported hit and run story involving the 'Akpako Master, Gabriel Amanyi otherwise known as Terry G, have generated, the former R&B singer, who later delved into dancehall style of music, has now reacted to the story claiming that such never happened.

In an official statement released by Terry G through his management team, 03 Media, the singer claimed that the hit and run story involving him is false. Terry G didn't deny the fact that he was at the club on the said day, but he said that even though he was mobbed by his fans while approaching his car, he didn't hit anybody as reported. He also said he didn't receive any call from the police stating that he was being wanted by them.

The will of the late Ikemba Nnewi, Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, was on Friday presented to the family with his widow, Bianca, getting the lion’s share.

The presentation by the Chief Registrar of the Enugu High Court, Mr Dennis Ekoh, was witnessed by Bianca, Mr Val Nwosu, Ojukwu’s first cousin, and Mr Mike Ejemba.

In the will, the late Ojukwu identified one Tenny Haman as one of his children.
Ojukwu listed the children as Tenny Haman, Chukwuemeka Jnr, Mmegha, Okigbo, Ebele, Chineme, Afam and Nwachukwu.

She is survived by her husband, Captain Mahmud Junaid and three children, including the new born baby who is said to be healthy and doing well.

Breaking News: Court dismisses IBB $12.4bn Gulf oil windfall suit

The government said the Pius Okigbo report on the $12.4bn Gulf oil windfall is missing.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed the suit filed by civil society groups against the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, and the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

The judge, Gabriel Kolawole, delivered the ruling on Thursday in Abuja. He said the applicants lack the locus standi to institute the case.

Mr. Kolawole however said the plaintiffs should not be seen as busy bodies but patriotic citizens.

CAN to sue Boko Haram at International Criminal Court- Oritsejafor

Sack half of civil servants – Sanusi to FG

He lamented that a situation where 70 per cent of revenue that accrued to the government every month is used to pay civil servants, political office holders and other employees of government agencies, leaving only 30 per cent of the revenue to cater for the rest of the population, will result in stunted growth and development of the economy.

Police arrest suspected serial murderer, robber

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended Ibrahim Balogun, a 25-year-old man accused of perpetrating a series of murders in Somolu, Bariga and Fadeyi in the state.

PUNCH Metro had reported on June 25, 2012, that Balogun also known as Small Jpron, was declared wanted following a gang-related violence between Shaggy Boys and Downtown Boys which left at least five people dead in Ilaje, Bariga.

Balogun, who also goes by the pseudonym, Asarailu, which means death in Arabic, is said to be the deputy gang leader of Downtown Boys and a member of a sect, Eiye Confraternity also known as EFCC Boys.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Balogun was arrested on Bawahala Street near Pedro Police Station on Saturday.

10 feared dead as gunmen attack three banks in Edo State

A gang of gunmen this evening invaded the town of Auchi in Edo state, attacking three major banks.

Sources say the banks, namely; First Bank, GuarantyTrust and Access bank, may have received huge deposits earlier in the day as they were specifically targeted.

The robbers it was learnt used large cache of dynamites to blow open the doors and strongrooms of the banks.

20 mini-skirt ladies slaughtered in Maiduguri

The continuous killing of innocent souls is gradually becoming a norm in Bornu state as barely 24 hours after over ten people were slaughtered in the ancient city, another twenty ladies in mini skirts and trousers were again on Friday slaughtered in their homes in Maiduguri metropolis by some unidentified gunmen.

Nigeria Is The Most Fraudulent Country in Africa, KPMG Report Says

Respected global audit and financial advisory firm, KPMG, has rated Nigeria as the most fraudulent country in Africa, with the cost of fraud during the first half of 2012 estimated at N225 billion ($1.5 billion).

The firm’s Africa Fraud Barometer, instituted this year, measures fraud on the continent and asses the fraud risk that confronts companies in their operations.

In KPMG’s second report, issued last Wednesday, it identified Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa as accounting for 74% of the total number of cases on the African continent, with Nigeria recording the highest overall value of fraud in the first half of the2012.
