Anenih set to return as PDP BoT chair

Former Works Minister, Dr Tony Anenih is set to return as chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees. The meeting of the party BoT holds tomorrow. Findings revealed that the main agenda of the meeting was the choice of chairman for the board. The office had been vacant since former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo resigned from the position.

Those in the race for the office are former vice-president, Dr Alex Ekwueme, former Senate President, Dr. Ken Nnamani and former chairman of the party, Dr Okweselieze Nwodo. Also in the race are former national chairman of the party, Dr Ahmadu Ali, former Works Minister, Chief Tony Anenih and Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu. Among the main contenders for the office, Dr Ekwueme and Chief Tony Anenih had once occupied the position. While certain party leaders have anointed Dr Anenih because in their wisdom he commands respect among the party’s founding fathers, those selling the candidature of Dr Ken Nnamani attest to his warm relationship with the civil society groups.
