Bedridden actor, Enebeli Elebuwa, is in a
critical condition in an Abuja hospital.
At a time many fans of Nollywood veteran, Enebeli Elebuwa, would
hope that his condition has improved, things have turned critical for him.
The
actor hit by stroke last year is currently in a hospital in Abuja, where he is
not only bedridden but also calling for financial assistance.
In
a save-his-soul campaign currently on African Independent Television,
he and his doctors are calling for help as he needs money for treatment and
upkeep.
"I
have not done any work in the past seven months. Please, help me. I have a
family to take care of," Elebuwa says.
A
few months ago, celebrated actor, Segun Arinze, told our correspondent that
Elebuwa was already recuperating at his Lagos home. But things obviously turned
the other way lately for the Delta State-born actor, whose first movie role was
in Sanya Dosunmu's 1974 celluloid film, Dinner with the Devil. After
he was bedridden with stroke. Elebuwa, who has starred in over 125 movies, was
first treated at St Luke's Hospital, Yaba, Lagos.
He
also got some respite from the Delta State Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, who
pledged N3m; actor and Commissioner, Richard Mofe-Damijo, donated N200, 000;
while Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, also gave him an undisclosed
amount.
Elebuwa,
whose acting career spans 30 years, is best known for his Andrew
must check out character in
the Nigerian Television Authority 80s jingle that sought to check brain
drain. He also played a police officer in the now rested popular soap, Village
Headmaster, starring
along talented role interpreter such as Funso Adeolu, Jab Adu, Elsie Olusola ,
Ibidun Allison and Joe Layode.
Other
Nollywood actors including Peter Brunor and Victor Eze also recently suffered
stroke.
