EVIL CHILDREN: 2 sons kidnap 74-yr-old father

Two suspected children from hell have been arrested in Anambra State for allegedly kidnapping their father. The two brothers, Ifeanyi and Obinna, aged 44 and 33 respectively, were arrested by the State Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), led by Supol James Nwafor, after they were implicated in the alleged abduction of their father, Chief Mike Onwukamuche.
The two sons were said to have demanded for N5 million ransom from their father. According to investigation, the 74-year-old victim was abducted in Ojota and taken to Obosi and was allegedly held hostage for one week by the suspects. Both Ifeanyi, who was the victim’s heir and his younger brother, Obinna, according to investigation decided to kidnap their father because he did not give them money to support the upkeep of their families when they requested.

Winners Church pastor arrested for illegal possession of gun

The resident pastor of the Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners Chapel, Pastor Collins Obuh, in Katsina-Ala town of Katsina- Ala Local Government Area of Benue state has been arrested by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in the state for illegal possession of fire arm.

Pastor Obuh allegedly tried to kill the church Accountant, Mr. Philip Toryila with a gun during a serious disagreement over money in the church yard.

Three students killed by drunken Kogi State Polytechnic lecturer




A Kogi State Polytechnic lecturer who was alleged to have driven under the influence of alcohol on Monday, had reported crushed three student of the school to death.

The lecturer who according to eye witnesses was on high speed knocked down one Miss Taiwo Edilola Omolola, a HND 1 student as she was about to board a commercial motorcycle from the campus and two others waiting to board a cab.

According to the eye witness, the slain student got stock under the lecturer’s car wheel as he dragged her along the expressway.

Miss Taiwo’s disfigured body was later pulled out.

Gunmen Invade Birnin Gwari Township In Kaduna State, Bomb Police Station And Banks



SR has just received information from students living in Birnin Gwari town in Kaduna State to the effect that heavily armed bandits took over the Police Station in the area and burnt it down after about two hours of gun battle with troops.

The police station is completely razed in an attack that started at midnight, according to the source.

Banks and other public buildings were reportedly bombed along with the Police Station.

A 15-year-old majorette who performed at some of President Barack Obama’s recent inauguration festivities has been shot to death in Chicago.
Police say Hadiya Pendleton was shot in the back Tuesday in a South Side park and died at a city hospital.
Authorities say Hadiya was one of about 12 teenagers sheltering from heavy rain under a canopy when a man jumped a fence, ran toward the group and opened fire. The man fled the scene in a vehicle. No arrests have been made.

AP – The UN’s special representative for Libya warned the Security Council that France’s military offensive in northern Mali may drive Islamic insurgents out and across the porous borders with Algeria and into Libya.
UN officials including peacekeeping chief Herve Ladsous have said that the Islamist occupation of northern Mali was partly triggered by the downfall of Libyan dictator Muammar Gadhafi in 2011, as well-trained militiamen fled into Mali with looted heavy weapons, driving back the Malian army.

Third Mainland crash: ‘I was not speeding’ - rescued driver says



Olusola Oladimeji, the driver of the Toyota Sienna that fell off the Third Mainland Bridge into the lagoon on Saturday, has described his escape as a miracle.
The father of three said contrary to reports by traffic and emergency officials, he was not on high speed when the incident occurred.

Two days after a spokesman for the EFCC said they discovered a 'secret mansion' belonging to Ibori located somewhere in Lekki, James Ibori' condemned the claims. He released a statement yesterday through his media assistant, Tony Eluemunor, saying the house was never a secret as it was listed down in Asset declaration forms he filled in 1999, 2003 and 2007.

The statement reads:

"Despite EFCC’s insinuations to the contrary, the Alpha Beach Road house was built as far back as 1994, and so could not have, by any leap of the imagination, been built with proceeds, corrupt or not corrupt, from my office as State Governor because I began to live in that house five good years before I was voted into office”.

Her father, Ife, was the alleged leader of a 10-man robbery gang that killed four policemen in Ajah during a robbery operation two weeks ago.
THE PUNCH had reported on January 15, 2012 that the dead policemen were responding to a distress call when they were ambushed by the robbers.

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, in a reaction to the conviction of Henry Okah, its alleged leader, said it will soon begin the dismantling of Nigeria.

Okah was sentenced to life imprisonment by a South African High Court on Monday, for masterminding the October 1, 2010 Independence Anniversary bombing that killed 12 people.

The group in statement released over the weekend, said it will go after “all the family members of the Government (1999-2013)” adding that “Nigerians as a whole will feel our presence when we finally decide to carry out our targets which will not be restricted to the Niger Delta Region alone”.

Governor Sullivan Chime Of Enugu Has Cancer



Enugu State governor, Sullivan Chime, has Thyroid cancer according to one of the sources knowledgeable about his true medical condition.

The governor who was visited by colleagues in London last Tuesday developed swellings around his left cheek last year that was diagnosed as Thyroid cancer.

The governor has reportedly undergone three surgeries to remove parts of his thyroid glands and lymph nodes that left him unable to speak for several months.
