I don’t have any plan to contest for presidency in 2015 – David Mark

Contrary to the news making the rounds that President of the Senate and the Okpokpowulu of Idomaland, Senator David Aleichenu Bonaventure Mark is nursing ambition towards 2015 presidency, the retired military officer has refuted the rumour, saying that such reports were the handiwork of mischief makers.

Mark in statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Tuesday said that the reports of his 2015 presidential ambition were fuelled by his opposition with the aim of creating misunderstanding between him and President Goodluck Jonathan.

The statement reads in part, “Our attention has been drawn to the actions of some mischief makers who are bent on causing disaffection between President Goodluck Jonathan and the President of the Senate, Senator David Mark.

“The trademark of this group is to consistently announce a presidential ambition or interest on behalf of the President of the Senate.

“For this set of mischief makers, the premises of the National Assembly is either flooded with “Mark for President’ forms or distinguished senators are forming groups to canvass the said presidential interest. Nothing can be farther from the truth.”

“It is imperative to state and emphatically too, that Senator Mark and President Jonathan are on the same page in the onerous task of providing democratic dividends for Nigerianns” But it would be recalled that the League of Idoma Professors and middle belt youths recently anointed the senator to take the mantle of leadership from president Jonathan.
