The 'Batman' actor and the female 'Saturday Night Live' producer are rumored to start hooking up while they were still married to other people.
The juicy details of Ben Affleck's relationship with "Saturday Night Live" boss Lindsay Shookus might have been revealed. Although their romance only surfaced after their divorces from their respective spouses, it's rumored that they actually started their hookup several years ago.
According to PEOPLE, the two were involved in an affair back in 2013 when the Batman depicter was still married to Jennifer Garner, the mother of his three children. They had "full-on had an affair. They would fly back and forth, but he would mostly visit her in New York," a source told PEOPLE. "They didn't hide ... They would use the Mandarin Oriental [hotel]. They were regulars."
Another insider claimed, "Both of them were married at the time. They were having secret rendezvous every time he came in to New York City and other places, too. Both of them were cheating on their spouses so they were very careful about it. Jen and [Shookus'] husband both found out about it around the same time."
Ben and Lindsay allegedly split a few years later. She was still married to Kevin Miller, a fellow "Saturday Night Live" producer, back then.
As the rumors ran rampage on the internet, a different source disputed the alleged affair. "They've known each other for a while. They’re dating - it is relatively new since he has been separated. It's still in a really early stage. He's working on himself, he's working on being happy and healthy," the source said. "There is not one reason why any marriage breaks up."
Another source insisted they were "just friends" at first. "The friendship's been going on for a very long time but this is newer waters for them. They've been trying to take it slow but it's progressing quickly. Their feelings are strong," the source claimed.
Ben and Lindsay's relationship went public after they were spotted dining together in Los Angeles. She spent the night at his house before heading to LAX in the morning. Back in 2013 after his "SNL" hosting gig, he reportedly flirted with the female producer during "The Heat" premiere. Over the past few years, "whenever he was on Fallon, he would go visit her at SNL," an insider said. "They were both married at the time, but there was definitely a flirtation."
