Are Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri Rekindling Romance?

Rumor has it, the 'All for You' singer has been getting support from the 44-year-old record producer following her split from husband Wissam Al Mana.

Are they getting back together? Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri are said to have rekindled their old flame following her split from her husband Wissam Al Mana. Bossip first broke the news, stating that the mother of one has been getting support from the 44-year-old record producer, just months after her separation from the Qatari businessman.
Sources tell the site that things have been heating up again between Janet and Jermaine, who "have recently reunited and not just for music making purpose." While it's unclear how long they've been in contact with each other, the publication suggests that the "Rhythm Nation" singer has been leaning on the hip-hop star amid allegations her estranged husband Wissam was emotionally and verbally abusive.

Reps for the rumored on-again couple have yet to respond to a request for comment. But according to a source, the two are just friends and nothing more. "Jermaine and Janet have remained friends through all these years and never lost touch," an insider revealed to E! News.

"They had a period when they broke up and didn't talk for a bit but overcame that and found friendship again," the source continued. "Jermaine has a crazy love for Janet and they have been speaking more since the breakup. Janet and Jermaine trust each other and they have history."

The source went on explaining that the 51-year-old singer "is really not in a position to get involved with someone at this time," before adding, "She is open though for something more down the line. They are in the talks of working on some new projects."

Janet and Jermaine dated for seven years. They ended their longtime relationship in 2009 amidst her mourning the loss of her brother Michael Jackson. The "Together Again" singer focused on work to deal with the grief, avoiding any news coverage of her sibling's death. She commented at the time, "It's still important to face reality, and not that I'm running, but sometimes you just need to get away for a second."
