'Nobody has seen Tupac's body': Knight reveals he is not sure rapper is really dead

Tupac could still be alive, according to former Death Row Records label CEO Suge Knight.

The rap mogul, who was in the driver's seat of the car in which the artist was shot in 1996, said in a radio interview yesterday that he is not convinced he really died.

Tupac Shakur, who was 25 when was killed in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, was 'resurrected' on stage last weekend at the Coachella Festival through hologram.

The realistic performance thrilled the 75,000-strong audience, some of whom believed the rapper's reappearance to be genuine, given longstanding conspiracy theories surrounding his death.

And now the former label boss, real name Marion Suge Knight, has added fuel to the whispers by stating that he never saw the artist's body following his death, despite being there on the night.

 During an interview on Los Angeles radio station 93.5 KDay, which was reported on TMZ, Knight was questioned on his feelings about accusations that he had been involved in the plot to have Shakur killed.

But he stunned listeners when he answered: 'Maybe the question is, Pac's not really dead. Pac's somewhere else.'

When pressed by the clearly taken-aback radio hosts, he added: 'Nobody seen Tupac dead.'

Knight, 47, added that he gave $3million cash to the person who was supposed to cremate Shakur, but never heard from him again.

The interview, reported on TMZ, has reignited conspiracy theories that Tupac faked his own death.

Knight, along with P Diddy, was accused last year by an ex-LAPD detective of ordering the killings of Shakur and Biggie Smalls. They called the claims 'ridiculous' and 'pure fiction.'

Knight was arrested in May 2010 for assault with  a deadly weapon, arrested earlier this year for possession of marijuana, and is serving 36 months probation for driving on a suspended license.

Knight also revealed that he is furious that the people behind the Coachella illusion neglected to include his iconic Death Row Records chain.

He said: 'At the end of the day, how you gonna take the Death Row chain off Pac? That's like taking the Raiders symbol off the Raiders.'

Last weekend, fans of the late rapper were stunned when he unexpectedly appeared onstage during Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre's headlining performance.

Making the illusion even more believable, he greeted the roaring crowd by saying: 'What's up Coachella?' - a festival that wasn't even taking place at the time of his death - before joining Snoop and Dr. Dre on hit single Hail Mary.

Shakur also joined Snoop for song Two of Americaz Most Wanted, appearing to interact with the rapper.

While some argued that the inclusion of the late rapper's image was in bad taste, many of his celebrity fans took to Twitter page to express their excitement over the dramatic performance.

Katy Perry tweeted: 'I think I might have cried when I saw Tupac.'

RIhanna added: 'TupacBack unbelievable Iwasthere Story4myGrandKidz (sic).'

The singer also tweeted a picture in which she appears to be hugging Tupac, achieved either using the hologram or through photoshop.

It seems that it wasn't just fans that were delighted to see the late rapper back on stage - his mother Afeni Shakur was also 'thrilled' with the hologram.
